After researching the installation of vinyl stripes, many experts suggest cutting each end about 1/16 to 1/8 inch back from the edges. They say this helps prevent the ends from peeling back & looks more like painted stripes... However, most info I've found on this forum (including the "how to" section) says to apply the stripes over the gaps (door, trunk, etc) & then cut down the middle & "roll" the stripe over the edge.

Which is the correct/better way to finish the edges/gaps ???

When applying stripes over the shallow "crevice" that goes around the hood duct (where the duct attaches to the hood), do you leave the vinyl in one piece & push it down into the "crevice" or cut it & push it into the crevice ???

Any advice or tips about these questions and/or other techniques would be appreciated !!!

Goldman, we cut the stripes in the cracks and roll them, if you got it good and clean you won't have it peel up on ya. looks better that way I think. You have to trim around the naca duct, about 1/4 inch. A heat gun or blow dryer will help ya form it around tight corners and edges, don't worry about small bubbles, a day in the sun will get rid of those. Good luck!!!

Mine is ever so closely trimmed around the duct

WHY won't my pic load in my post?

Another recent pic post did fine, but this one never loads up.

Thanks ViperJoe... I also emailed you the question, just disregard the email & thanks anyway.

My daughter has a friend that installs graphics, stripes, window tint, etc. He's volunteered to help me, so the job should go smoothly with his help.
