Dodge Marketing should be happy with this one: Speed TV Coverage July 29 and then repeats of the "K&N Pro Series" NASCAR 125 at Portland. Once again we were able to provide a PartsRack VIPER as Official Pace Car for a NASCAR event!

K+N colors are Orange/Black, and all KN Series officials wear Orange/Black, so they were delighted to field our Orange/Black 2009 ACR. We slapped on some WHELEN Strobe Equip as VRL - VIPER CUP uses, and some WHELEN and K+N decals, and away we went.

A Pace Car driver has a dilemma: We hope the race is safe and competitive, but we hate to sit still for the entire race. You secretly hope you get to dash out, collect the field, and then turn em loose. At least once? In 2009 we went FC-Yellow 5 times. This year it was up to 3, but then the final 4th yellow took us to the CHECKERED FLAG. So this T.V package will have a 2009 Viper ACR taking the checkers at a NASCAR event!

Some other cool stuff: "SALUTE TO THE TROOPS" Local store chain Bi-Mart gave FREE TICKETS to every uniformed member of the US Military and their immediate families. There were tons of uniforms there! NASCAR invited uniformed members for safety truck and pace car rides. Doris in her RT/10, and me in the ACR gave lots of soldiers and airmen a great lap or 2 of PIR. They started the race with a 21-Howitzer Salute!

We gave away several hundred Maisto-die-cast Vipers to kids in attendance, [50% military families,] sumbliminally implanting mush-brained children with DODGE as the car they want to own when they grow up! We have done similiar "kid" stuff since 1993, but this "SALUTE" was fantastic. Our troops are so genuinely grateful for any small gesture of recognition for their service...and they deserve it. Dodge fielded an ACR-X in the VIPER CUP, with a National Guard driver.....his team gave us GUARD Hats to wear in the Salute race. It was a proud moment for us. [CHAD will post some photos below! Courtesy of PhotoSport NW Thanks.]

And it was great to give back to DODGE: #45 NASCAR DODGE won the race, and Dodge got a no-cost Official Pace Car / Televised on Speed...(in front at the finish) ..donated by a VERY proud owner and club sponsor. So we just had to tell you. Thanks for reading.

That's great, and very kind of you to do something like that to support the military! I'll remember this while I'm in Iraq.

Last year SPEED condensed the 125 miles to a one hour show, so we expected the same in 2010. NOT SO! The race was condensed to 15 minutes!

On that 3rd Yellow, where the ACR was passing cars on Drivers Right, the ACR was able to blast past 7-8 decelerating cup cars to beat them to T-1. FUN. And taking the checkers was fun too, and well-covered on-cam.....

THANKS FOR WATCHING......
