I have never been to Europe but have always romanticized about the Autobahn.

Well..... now that I own a Viper .... what if .... I took my car over there and just drove it around 8hrs a day?

I would be concerned with logistics such as parking, servicing, and who knows what else.

It might be worth it to do the whole thing with a throwaway car to see how things work out.

I would be most interested in comments/suggestions on this.

Although it would be super cool to drive to Russia and get one of those Mig 29 rides, however, can you imagine getting your Viper fixed in Russia?

It might also be better if I had a co-pilot to go along.

Please, by all means, feel free to tell me if I'm crazy.

Thanks
Tom

Think that would be a blast. I've been on it several times
in the mid 80's when I was buying cars there and shipping to U.S.
I love the German drivers they are no nonsense! I had bought
a Countach 5000s and the wipers were kaput in the driving
rain. I could barely see to drive so I was driving about 65-70..
Needless to say they went by flashing their lights shaking their
fists and cursing at my slow driving!!!!!!!!!

There are plenty of unrestricted roads, nice and empty at the
right times. You'd get plenty of horn and lights if you don't maintain 100mph+. Although I'd think any simple problem would soon turn into a major one, if like the UK any part normally takes a few days minimum to get hold of. If you fancy it i'd talk to the German region at [email protected]

Good Luck

I'm going next summer!! Have an ambition to feel 200mph; with the little extras I've given my snake hopefully I will.

The German VCA branch are really friendly. I also have a friend in Germany who has pointed out the best stretches of Autobahn, as some are better than others. Was told it's best to go out early, 6 am, as minimal traffic about then...the tarmac's all yours to burn tyres and gas...ahh...just take care.

Nadine, Nadine!

The best stretches info is what I'm after.

I'm thinking I'll try and get lodging in the centroid of these paths!

I was already emailed by Romeo from the German club and he has offered assistance also.

Who knows how long I might stay there!

Thanks
Tom
