If your motor is stock the Mopar wires will be just fine. If you want to go with an after market wire Sean Roe has the MSD 8.5's. I use these on my blower car.

We recommend lifetime-guarantee MagnaCor wires. (We even muled them for SRT-10s for MagnaCor.)

We have had bad luck with both Mopar Performance (blue) and MSD. MoPar is lots of radio static. MSD is short life-boot breakdown. But we do stock both becasue some folks want blue, or want under $100, or dont drive hard or many miles. Hint: OE wires are fine AFTER 1995. Before that they stunk. Fact. Again, the year matters. (this for Joe117, no email, no name)

Your wires shipped TODAY and you will have them in 2 days as you requested. Look closely inside for a ******* jack surprise!

Thanks Tim

Jon or anyone else in the know, what is the average lifespan for a set of OEM wires? 50k? I just ordered new plugs for my 01 with 21k on it. I also went with the SRT plugs based on recommendations here.

Regards,

Again, the year matters. (this for Joe117, no email, no name)

Jon's post leads me to beleive that there are different plug wires for a Gen 2?!?
I find this hard to beleive. Please school me on this Jon.
I know that when they went to the Gen 2, the coil packs are different requiring different length of wires.

Yup - one of the wires is a different length due to the changes in the coil packs, etc. I believe the Gen II #2 wire is about 9" too short to fit on a Gen I. (I put Gen II wires on my Gen I at the advice of Ted May, our local Viper Tech - I believe it was due to improved boots).

I went between 8k and 20k for a set of OEM wires on my '95 (four sets of wires in 70k miles), which were $60 for a set at the local Dodge dealership with our club discount, and took about 45 minutes to replace. However, I also drive it in rush hour stop-and-go traffic and on the track, which is ******* plug wires. I've yet to replace the wires on my '00, but it hasn't had a need for them yet (w/ only 24k miles on the odo).

Maybe I need to rephrase my question.
It clearly states in the original post that he is looking for plug wires for a GTS. GTS=Gen2 am I right so far.
All GTS's use the same plug wire lenghts correct? So how can the years make a difference?

I already stated that I know the wires for a Gen 1 are different, I know I owned both.

As far as I know, you are correct here - all Gen II's use the same plug wire lengths. Corrections welcome, of course.

I got magnecor from Jon B with heat protective socks.Last a lifetime.Car ran with more snap after install and I only had 6000 miles on oem.If you think ORECA actually used stock out of the box mopar wires from a mopar parts counter then you must still believe in Santa Claus. That being said I am certain they came in a MOPAR box with the correct mopar part # and price.OMG!you don't think they had special sets made up that came in the correct box with the correct part # do you??I just lost a tooth cap and fortunatly didn't swallow it.I'm going to leave it under my pillow tonight and surely the tooth fairy will leave enough cash for a big brake kit. Fred's delt personally with the ORECA people a number of times, so your contradiction and sarcasm is probably misdirected. If you've had dealings with ORECA that lead you to believe Fred is wrong, by all means, enlighten us with your superior knowledge. As I'm sure ORECA replaced the plug wires for every race, I'm not sure longevity was an issue for them.

Of course, and on the flip side, some people who really haven't thought things all the way through believe that if it works for a race car, you'd unconditionally want it on the street. Too bad the criteria that makes something great for the track doesn't always apply to the street. (Brake pads come to mind as another example of this).
