Was thinking of selling. Changed my mind. More mods on the way.

Was thinking that now it is hot in the desert and Viper is not too fun in the heat that I would sell the car (had it almost two years now) and use the money to pay down some moderate home equity borrowing. Idea was that I still wanted to end up with two vehicles (I recently bought an SRT-8 Jeep Cherokee), but wanted the second car to be something more polished - I was thinking a 996 GT2 for $90k or so would be perfect in a year or so. Started doing a few things to the Viper to get it ready to sell, then I starting thinking a few things:

1) I hate the idea of cleaning up some issues then selling it and letting someone else have the enjoyment from my work/expense right at the end (kind of like replacing the carpet in your house right before you sell it);

2) the portion of the home equity lending I would pay down with the proceeds only has about a $200/month nut;

3) I am pretty sure that life will get at least a little better, but planning on having a second fun car for close to $100k is just too optimistic - and there is just no part-time (I daily drove it for over a year but those days are over) very fast car that gives you the value of a Viper; and

4) I really have no interest in going through the hassle of trying to sell the car (heard too many of you guys' horror stories). So I am going to keep it and treat the summer like you northern guys treat the winter - as modding season - and be ready when the weather comes back in the fall. If life brings on something bad and I need money, I'll sell it then.

Until the first problem I have I'm happy with the decision. Thank you for the support.

I really like it alot. So much that it would make not having the Viper a lot less painfull! The AWD launch capabilities with the 6.1 Hemi make it a ton of fun off the line. The non-Viper SRT line is really impressive.

I have to agree, the fun factor in the srt8's is top notch. You can drive a 8 everyday and be very comfy and still have room to throw some groceries in the back. Im actually thinking of getting a GC 8 myself.

Phoenix,

As much time/money/research as you've put into that car, I can't believe you'd even think of selling it.

Silver Viper, that's you.

Good decision to keep it.
