I tried the magnet and it is somewhat attracted to it. If it was aluminum it wouldn’t be attracted to it at all, and it’s not like steel which has a strong attraction .
The weight is heavy for aluminum. Is stainless steel magnetic?

That's very strange. I would have assumed they were aluminum, but being magnetic pretty much rules out everything except some kind of iron.

Stainless steel is not magnetic. It must be a cast steel.

I believe that certain grades/chemistries of Stainless Steel are magnetic.

Stainless is not magnetic.

300 series stainless is not magnetic, however 400 series is. Difference is chromium in the 400 series.

I would assume it's a cast aluminum with a chrome plating of some sort which may give it a slight magnetic attraction.

Anyone powdercoat their cap door, I have a '10 snakeskin acr, the stainless or chrome whatever it is looks odd, want to do it semi gloss black if that matches the best.

Had one wrapped in carbon fiber for my gen 3.
