I know Bobby Archer does, but does anyone else retrofit ABS yet?
Was wondering also how the mod has held up. Anyone besides Joe Dozzo
do this on this board?

Hoping to hear that someone does this for less than 7,800 bucks...

Arhcer is the only one I am aware of. 7800 really isnt out of this world when you consider parts cost. the ABS hydraulic actuator itself is 5K+ from any dealer. (Hell, its almost that much out of a 3000G!)

Darn....

One of the few areas I can contribute intelligently and I'm sorta invited not to participate...

Sorry Joe, by all means PLEASE CONTRIBUTE. I was just hoping to hear from other guinee pigs.

So Joe, hows the ABS been working? Did you find out if its really 3 channel or 4?

I have thought about this quite often. It's just not worth the money unless you are 100% sure you are going to keep the car 10 or 20 more years.

If you are going to keep it that long I would do the ABS, upgrade my half shafts and put a quaife rear in while doing the ABS. about $14K installed at archers.

I only live about 15 miles from Bobby's shop and still have not gone there!! I hear people who live in NY never have visted the Statue of Liberty either. :)

Bobby just completed my ABS on my 2000 GTS before Thunderhill Viper Days. It is just as good as the ABS on my 2002 Final Edition. The money you can save not flat spotting tires is worth it. Plus the piece of mind.

That is a good question. Has anyone taken the ABS controller, cylinder and wheels off a wrecked 01 or 02 and use them on their car?

Hi Bug!

Thanks for asking. I hoped I chose the right "smiley" to show I was just kidding...

I don't really have anything new to contribute...

The Archer system I have is definitely, positively a 3 channel system.

I've got a little over 20000 miles on the car since installing ABS... While I occaisionally miss the "excitement" of screaming tires and smoke coming off all 4's, I couldn't be happier with the stability and performance of the ABS retro-fit system I have.
