I'm about to place two LC-1 Wide Ban sensors in the car.
Does anybody have words of wisdom on their location?

I'll try to photograph the process for the Performance Mods page.

1. Bunge hole prep?
2. Pipe prep?
3. Location - I understand that they must be placed in the top quadrant of the pipe (10-2 O'clock) so that no moisture is present.
4. Wire path?

Etc. Etc.

Hey Dan,I put mine where it make the turn down the side sills .It was the only place to be able to get it near the 2 o'clock -10 o'clock position and still have fairly easy access(just pull the sill)I drilled with the largest bit I have and then used my die grinder until the **** went in snug.Spotted it and then welded it in.Leave the plug out while welding. :2tu:

The location pointed by the arrow is a good place.
The best is to have the WBO as close as possible to the header collector.
Don't forget to protect the wires from the heat !

I have had w/b's in the 4-5 o'clock position for several years. Much easier than pulling the side sills AND closer to the engine. After welding it's real nice to have a tap to run in the ****.

Mine is straight out at 3 0'clock, towards the rear of the car, in the horizontal piece between the collector and the 90 which turns into the side sill. No need to remove the side sill. Water has never been an issue. O2 Wire can be led right up between the OEM O2 sensor aluminum cover plate and the frame. Plug it in right below the PCM

If you don't have cats, the best place to install the sensors is close to the rear oem sensors. i placed mine in the short transition pipe (Balangers) that connects the rear exhaust to the side pipes. That also allows easy access to the cabin, you run the cable in the tunnel and drill a small hole that comes out above the floor near the front of the seat. You can pull that pipe in five minutes and weld it outside the car.

Just remember the exhaust is under both pressure and vacuum, therefore, make sure there are no leaks otherwise you will read lean.

If you are running catless and have O2 sims in place, can you just simply put the WB's in place of the rear O2 sensors since they're not being used?

Yes. That is the easiest way.
