My 04 gained 25 rwhp from Kooks headers. The car already had 3"offroad pipes going into a 3" Corsa Track. the only change was the headers.

It's been said that 05 and up will not show as much of a gain as the 03 and 04's....knock sensors...?
Do these remove the first set up cats? Do you need 02 sims? 25hp at the wheels is a nice increase.
I gained 44 hp from stock (dyno proven) on my '03 when I added Belanger headers, hi flow cat, and 3" belanger exhaust.
I just posted my dyno numbers on my '06 (see separate thread), but I never tested it before mods. I am making a surprising 585 crank HP with the belanger system.
It is interesting all of the input on who's headers make the most hp, and no one has thrown in who Dodge chose to build all of the tubular headers for the 2008 Viper. After testing "many" of the available brands, they chose Belanger headers. NO failures on testing......the most hp gains......Dodge wanted no quality control issues......you then can be the judge........just my .02.........
To clairify, the new Belanger headers and exhaust have been tested on the new engine by DCX and Mclaren and the gains are real. The headers needed to be actually "detuned" to stay within the uasable parameters of the new PCM to make sure there would be no issues that prevent it from being a true "plug and play" system. If I did not believe this information the last thing I would have done is order 12 sets of them ;-)
With Kooks, Belanger, M&M, B&B etc, on a the same car they are going to all be within 5-10 hp of each other....not enough to really matter.except price.![]()
I would guess that Dodge also has to 'choose' on the basis of service/install considerations. I read elsewhere that the engine needs to be lifted slighty for the Kooks install -- no way a Dodge dealer is going to do that. The Belanger install looks easier, regardless of which header is actually better.
Many of the tested headers cracked, and "warped" and their are piles of other companies headersThat's what happens when you put shields over the spendy stainless. The mild steel ceramic coated does not do this.
Mild steel coated sounds better too. Not "tinny" like thin stainless.
btw, tooting my own horn here, not B.'s![]()
