I have searched and searched and could not find. Someone posted a thread awhile ago about venting inner fenders/rocker panels on a Gen 3 to cool the side pipes. I thought it was a great idea and got the vents I wanted. I removed one rocker only to find that there is a metal sheet behind the inner fender completely blocking access to the pipes. Doesn't this make venting a waste of time or do you cut a hole in the metal sheet as well?

Someone was prompting these vents and if you could point me to the thread I would appreciate it.

Thanks all:)

Several posts out there. Thought I would chime in with the brand I had installed two years ago, Speed Tactics. Made a huge difference in side sill temp and cabin temp. I also think they are also one of the better looking brands out there. I did have to remove a peice blocking the opening where the vents were actually installed. Regardless of the manufacturer purchased, you will need to remove a piece at the forward end as I believe both Gen 2's and 3's come with a closed front end. Attached links are for Gen 2 but I am pretty sure they make a similar application for Gen 3's.

I checked their website Gen 2 only.

Those do look great but the Gen 3's inner fender is different. The thread showed a big hole cut with wire mesh behind it. I picked up some nice vents off of a Chevy blazer 4 for $6. I was going to do fronts and rears but after looking the bottom of the side sill is already open and the fronts are blocked. I guess I wasted $6 unless I start cutting holes in the inner steel structure.

Anyone else see the thread I mentioned?

Thanks for the replies.

That would be one of the DIY's that Dave did...

"Ice Cube" side sills, custom Belanger heat shields - update - a few pics

...ahhh...but the pictures are gone.

I just installed the SpeedTactics vents on mine...they look great and seem like very high quality. Their customer service is awesome. I still have to get my new exhaust installed before I can test them out.
