So I installed my check valve after the fuel filter. After a few weeks, there's no leaks and it does work. I've left the car sit for a day, 3 days, and a week. It starts just as fast as any other normal car.
Fortunately it's not too bad to check for leaks. Using a camera phone I just record a video at 2x zoom with the light on. Lay on the ground, extend you arm between the exhaust tip and rear tire. Aim for the pinion yoke then point the camera up to find the fuel filter and check valve.
Nothing rattles or hits from vibration. Everything is secure as long as the fuel filter bolt is good and not stripped. The only downside is how awkward it looks.
Check Valve:
Radium Engineering Universal Check Valve Kit 6AN (20-0534-06)
Fittings (I bought Evil Energy fittings):
2x 180 degree fittings. Hose-end to 6AN female
1x 6AN Male to 5/16" Quick-Disconnect Female
1x 6AN Male to 5/16" Quick-Disconnect Male
1x aprox 12cm length of 3/8 steel braided hose
Let me try to recall this caterpillar....
The check valve comes with several adapters. Configure it to have AN6 Female on the inlet, and AN6 Male on the outlet.
Fuel Filter > 5/16" Quick-Disconnect Female to Male AN6 > Check Valve > 180 degree Female AN6 to hose-end > 3/8" hose > 180 degree hose-end to AN6 Female > 6AN Male to 5/16" Quick-Disconnect Male > OEM Hose that would normally go into the fuel filter
For the length of hose, I measured 6.1cm of hose excluding any metal fittings. So that size would likely change depending on your fittings. I had to dry-fit everything without the hose then measure exactly what I needed.
I attempted a straight path off of the fuel filter but there was no way that was fitting so I had to make a loop.
