Hi all,

SRT released an email to their dealers today stating that the first of the customers' vehicles will be delivered by the end of February, via closed carrier. They are deliberately maintaining a slow pace of manufacting to ensure high quality. I'm personally glad this is the case, I'd like them to take their time and build them right.

Perfect example of how AllPar is not always correct. They just days ago released messages that the cars were being shipped. Right in the middle of the Plant shutdown -- common sense told everyone no way.

The new Chrysler is not like of old, and we see that with the quality coming out on the new Jeep, Rams, Chryslers, and especially all the SRTs. It is a passionate, caring and meticulous company.............the change is so dramatic for those working at their franchised Dealerships.

i wonder if they mean the launch and red trak pak cars will be shipped at the end of feb, or cars that were ordered after those launch editions? if this is the case we may not see cars in canada till this time next year. ** ** **

I guess it begs the question, if they started building already - will they just be sitting on them until late Feb? Or are they still tweaking things in the factory and not building (besides the factory being shut down for Xmas, but into Jan)?

Agreed Bill, that's why I thought I should post this. A lot of misinformation floating around.

The memo states that after completing the build, each new SRT Viper is being stored at the Conner Avenue Assembly Plant’s indoor climate controlled shipping prep facility.

" They are deliberately maintaining a slow pace of manufacting to ensure high quality."

That sounds great, expecting mine will take some time but it will be worth it.

Bill, that is what the GM said at the local dealer I ordered from. He was very happy with the the new direction.

SRTLEN,

Way cool to see that the Dealers in Canada are feeling the same caring, passionate, vibe!! Appreciate you sharing that, it gives credibility that it is widespread and folks do feel it is a new company with new thoughts ,concerns and ideals!

Merry Christmas to all !

if you're gonna be in the next order wave in February I'm told a May or June delivery would be a realistic expectation. I too am fine with it as I too would rather have a quality build that they take their time with esp since its a first year of production on a new generation.

i selfishly hope that its a very small production number. hate having things everyone else has. there's like ten gallardo's in my exotic car club. only thing that saved me exclusivity wise was the color and spyder component. i doubt i'll see many gen V's next season esp not in my color combo.

My theory is that the EPA numbers are not final so therefore the gas guzzler tax can not be calculated allowing the window stickers to be produced. Without a window sticker these vehicles can not be shipped or sold.

My Priced Order Confirmation shows $2,600 for gas guzzler tax. I wonder why they still haven't published the EPA numbers, but have figured how much to charge, LOL

Maybe they figure people aren't worried about fuel economy :rolaugh:

I won't buy it if it gets under 19mpg! :rolaugh:

Sadviper,

Have no idea where your comment comes from, as we are virtually sold out, and could use alot more. We have a few orders left , and only a couple of the Red SRT Track Pack models we requested. Know from our good friends at SRT that this is a new Viper, but it is also a new Division and going a bit farther upscale , so that demands a level of build quality that impresses. This car will continue to stop traffic and from the tons of positive press ( which we must be honest was never very forthcoming ) , the character lives, but the body and more is enhanced -- yes, I meant that to have multiple innuendos, ha. Would not be one bit surprised if part of the delay is simply a parts issue. There is a very good reason why this is a definite part of the equation, though , unfortunately, I am not at liberty to discuss. Hang in there , as the World did not end on the 21st, though it could all be due to Stryker, as the serpent was a tenant of the Mayan Religion, and maybe they foresaw this awesome rebirth and didn't have time to revise their calendar,ha.
