Did everyone follow the break in procedure that the manual outlines?
How did you break in your Viper?

At the 400 mile mark I got baited by a Murcielago, break in period was history... 06 Coupe

Took mine to the road course here and put in 725 miles in a day with 5 cooling and fuel stops to heat cycle.
from 0-200 Miles:
light Throttle Run-ups Through Gears: Max Shift Point 2,500 Rpm
Change Engine Oil At 200 Miles
from 201-400 Miles:
light Throttle Run-ups Through Gears: Max Shift Point 3,500 Rpm
from 401-600 Miles:
light Throttle Run-ups Through Gears: Max Shift Point 4,000 Rpm
from 601-800 Miles:
light Throttle Run-ups Through Gears: Max Shift Point 4,500 Rpm
from 801-1,000 Miles:
light Throttle Run-ups Through Gears: Max Shift Point 5,000 Rpm
from 1,001-1,500 Miles
drive Car Hard With Full Throttle Accelerations Shifting Near Or At

I'll chime in with what I think is the most important part of the break in procedure....don't do anything stressful until the water and oil temps are in the normal operating range. Once everything is warmed up do whatever procedure makes you sleep good at night.
On a brand new car with near zero miles on the odometer, I warm the car up and take it through cycles of loaded acceleration, cruise to cool down and then shut down the beast. Do this 5 or 6 times and call it good. I feel getting the rings to seat is the key to a good break in. Remember, unless you have a major assembly problem, there is no metal to metal contact in a motor. All metal to metal parts should have a film of oil separating them. If not, you have nearly instant galling, scuffing and seizure.
If you pick up a new Viper with 70 miles on it for example, don't worry about how you break it in....it probably already had quite a few full throttle pulls on a cold motor

On my new 09, exactly per the manual but changed oil and filter at 200 and 700 miles.

Very nice driving, first full throttle was at 1900 miles....
