Gen2 Hydraulic Clutch Line

Im looking for a replacement hydraulic clutch line for my 99 RT/10. I replaced the slave cylinder with the LUK LSC134 and I CANNOT get the red dry break connector to seat into the new slave. I suspect that its damaged since it leaks fluid while disconnected anyways. If you push the clutch pedal in fluid will fly out of it freely.

After trying everything for 4-5 hours I gave up before I ended up breaking something. I removed the master cylinder today to replace it also so now I just need a new line. I see that the later gen 2s have a blue colored dry break connector and have been wondered if that will fit better since this one will not seat.

Also gonna see if maybe HEL can make a clutch line for me. Anyone know off hand the length hydraulic clutch line I need?

I know you can buy adapters to convert them to plain AN line. I run a T56 in my 67 Dart and use a Viper slave cylinder and I bought fittings to replace the quick connect. You've got to remember to remove it when dropping the trans, but I think master cylinder access is okay to unscrew it.

I just measured a takeoff clutch master cylinder hydraulic line at 33.5 inches connector to connector...from a friend's 01 R/T 10. I hope that this helps.

You might want to contact Tom Sessions in Hampstead, NC as he has a couple of new OEM masters (with hose). He also has had (and solved) what sounds like the same connector issue as you described.

I ended up buying a whole new master cylinder kit for $250. Thankfully Mopar has used the same length and style connections for the gen 2, 3 and 4s hydraulic clutch lines. Latest Mopar# 4642666AH.

After taking the stock line out, that I knew was bad. I tried to see if pushing in the white plastic piece inside the dry break connector could close and it just went in even further and seized up.

I tested the new hydraulic line with the new LUK slave cylinder i bought and it snapped right in easily and to make it even better the release sleeve on this new connector has a ridge on it making it drastically easier to push in to release, Especially if you have the tool.
