and just as a further piece of advice, my Viper Tech recommends pulling the IOD fuse when storing the car for a fair length of time. This is the fuse that runs the interior lights, memory for the radio stations, clock, etc. (of course the only downside is havnig to reprogram the clock and...
I have a Mopar car cover which I think go for $195 new, though several folks usually have them for sale used and you can occassionally get them on ebay for less. Very happy with mine...also has pockets for side mirrors and clear view section for license plate visibility.
Thanks Anaconda...kind of a budget deal. I would classify myself as a poser :D , so the need for heavy duty stopping power/brakes probably are not needed at my level. $570 for the rotors is more than I wanted to go (though it seems like a decent deal, I suppose).
About that 3M kit...I...
Going to be changing my brake pads shortly myself and was wondering how important it is to have your rotors resurfaced before installing new pads. I will probably be going with the EBC Greenstuff pads. I saw an earlier thread about these pads and someone mentioned that, if you go with these...
Re: Don\'t run K&N filters???
Ron, the part number for the purolators is A14837.
Thanks for the comments guys. Guess it scared me off from K&Ns when my tech told me not to use them. Think I will give them a try.
Re: Don\'t run K&N filters???
Silly question....but will I notice any appreciable difference by replacing the purolators (or stock ones) with K&N's?
Don\'t run K&N filters???
Is my Viper Tech full of crap or what? When I brought it in a month ago, I told him I was going to order K&N's to replace the stock filters. He cringed. He said that, due to the filters being oil injected (would that be the right word?) that, over time you would...
I would say as long as it "grabs", you may just need an adjustment to change the amount of travel of the pedal before it engages. If it slips or slowly engages, you might need a new clutch.
Just wanting to see if mine is an isolated case or what:
I get out and lock the viper using the remote...Come back and press the remote button to disarm/unlock and it does not work. Each time I have had to unlock the back window, reach in and open using the emergency release (at which time the...
Forgive me if I am wrong, but wasn't that one of the defining differences between Gen I and Gen II (beginning in 2000, they came with cast pistons and not forged)?
Of course I could be totally wrong in my definition of "Gen I" vs "Gen II"...
:o
I would think the difference in the forged vs cast pistons and the ability to do "heavier" mods could play a role in your decision. I want to put a TT or SC on my 2001, but will also have to replace the pistons. I also like the {gulp} ABS on my 2001.
I am probably making this too simple...but is there anywhere to see approx how much HP can be added for any given mod...such as:
Smooth tubes = x HP
KN filters = y HP
Hi flow cats = z HP
Headers = x HP
new rockers = y HP
too simplistic? Just askin'.
Sorry, Big...didn't mean to give you a heart attack...I didn't realize you had a '97. I think that is the only thing I regret about my 2001....but I suppose I can always have the pistons changed out.
