Factory Pick-Up Procedure for Viper SRT10?

Guys, Thanks for all the feedback and tax counsel. The terrific news is that my selling dealer here in Maryland called me today to say that my car has left the dreaded "I Code" and has moved to "KZ"...released from plant and invoiced. The dealer says it is now in transit and should be here...

Factory Pick-Up Procedure for Viper SRT10?

Rocket, While I'm a long time VCA member, I haven't been on this site for over a year and didn't know that Bill P. was the guy to go to when ordering a new Viper. I foolishly (in hindsight) used a local Dodge dealer here in Maryland who rarely if ever sells a Viper and they have no clue on...

Factory Pick-Up Procedure for Viper SRT10?

Can Bill Pemberton or someone else advise how you can go about the procedure of picking up your new Viper at the factory? My 2008 black SRT10 was ordered on 21 February.....built on 27 March (I have the VIN number from my dealer)...and has been sitting in "I Code" since 1 April. My dealer is...

Leaking Oil Pan on 1996 GTS

Ron, Thanks for Chuck Tator's name....I called him and he was astounded what my local dealer was trying to do to get me to also buy a new pan. He will gladly sell an oil pan gasket only if desired but recommended I re-torque all the bolts on the pan before I replace the gasket. Apparently...

Thanks to all for their inputs....I'm the original owner of of 96 GTS...front timing cover started leaking at 4,000 miles...was replaced under warranty....oil pan has been slowly dripping since about 6,000 miles but I didn't really think about the small leak too much until recently and my...

Leaking Oil Pan on 1996 GTS

Daniel, Thanks for the response....apparently the gaskets on the early 1996 GTSs have been a problem not only on the oil pan but also on the timing cover. I had my timing cover gasket replaced under warranty at about 5000 miles on the car due to leaking oil and antifreeze from the timing...

Leaking Oil Pan on 1996 GTS

I am finally sick of the oil drips on my garage floor and plan to pull the oil pan on my 9500 mile '96 GTS and replace the oil pan gasket....my question is does anyone have a recommendation on a better than stock Dodge oil pan gasket that hopefully is thicker/less prone to leaks than the stock...

Replacement of Driver Side Wiper Motor

Guys, The driver's side wiper motor on my 8000 mile 1996 GTS has stopped working...the passenger side blade/motor cycles fine...low speed/high speed etc. but the driver side blade just twitches/trys to turn but doesn't. Pretty irritating that the motor appears shot when it has been turned on...

Re: Oil Dip Stick For \'96 GTS JonB, Thanks for the additional insight into the '96 GTS oil dipstick issue...also, on another thread I mentioned that the front of my engine was leaking oil and anti-freeze. The dealer finally did show/convince me that a leaking timing cover was the culprit of...

Oil Dip Stick For '96 GTS

Re: Oil Dip Stick For \'96 GTS Viper Bob, Thanks for the recommendation.... I assume since you used it on your '96 GTS that the '97 oil tube and dip stick will show the correct oil level in the '96 oil pan....Right?

Oil Dip Stick For '96 GTS

Oil Dip Stick For \'96 GTS I'm trying to stop all the oil leaks on my '96 GTS...noticed that the oil dip stick doesn't stay down in the dip stick tube...it lifts up and lets oil seep out of the tube. Anyone else with a '96 GTS have same problem? I guess the fix is to get a new dip stick that...

    '96 GTS Anti-Freeze & Oil Leaks

Re: \'96 GTS Anti-Freeze & Oil Leaks Doug, Great suggestion...there has been so much oil-blown back from the timing cover leak onto the oil pan...I just asumed that the oil on the pan was from the timing cover. I'll get them to clean off the pan and see if it's leaking also...

    '96 GTS Anti-Freeze & Oil Leaks

Re: \'96 GTS Anti-Freeze & Oil Leaks Guys, Thanks for the thoughts. I've been getting oil on the front of the engine so the leaking timing cover makes sense for the oil. I hope it is also the problem with the anti-freeze as I really don't want them to have to open the engine (intake...
