I would like to see the 2002 build info and see the totals for the 10 years of Gen 1 and Gen 2. Does anyone know when we will see these numbers? Like the 2002 ACR yellow with stripes.
Thanks in advance to who ever does this.

Jody -- While I don't doubt your source, the last retail VIN does not appear to include all the Final Editions which range from 102580s to 102980s. We also have an ACR in the Final Edition Registry with a VIN in the 970s. Perhaps these numbers were based on sold vehicles instead of the entire production run.

Remember, VINS do not go down the line in sequence. The only Viper run that was ever done in VIN sequence was the run of 100 GT-2's. This is why a Viper's MDH is so important. The last VIN is correct and was the last VIN off the line. The "highest" VIN for a Final Edition is 2989, but it was not the last one built, 2736 was. 2887, last ACR off the line, was a Final Edition as well.

So if I am reading this right, then my 2002 yellow ACR with black stripes is 1 of 26.

Jay -- Thanks for the reminder. I should have confired that VIN 102736 is FE #360. And as you note, there are cars with similar MDHs, but VINs that are 200 numbers apart. I wonder what MDH FE 360 shows? I'm guessing the MDH was assigned prior to drawing the random Final Edition number. Was this car "set aside" when #360 was drawn?

Other interesting MDH observations for the Final Editions (from about 40 MDHs among 145 cars reported) -- times appear to range from 0600 to 1500 daily, there is an MDH on the Memorial Day holiday, and one instance where two cars show the same MDH.

One final note -- the FE with VIN 102989 was recently for sale in Boulder, CO for someone looking for the final GTS with the highest VIN.

Jay,

Thanks for clearing up the non sequential vin numbers. I've wondered how there were vipers with higher vin numbers than the "last" produced FE car that was in Viper Magazine.
