335\'s on the front?

Is it possible to run 335's all around on the BBS wheels? If so, are there any drawbacks to doing so? This is for street use by the way.

I have 305's on 11 inch wheels in the front, and that is probably the biggest you want to go without running into problems.

The first thing I noticed is that the tires interfeer with opening and closing of the hood.

Russ is right on the hood thing...
You have to be careful ...never pop the hood up in the front, then move the car (like if you were going to roll it a few feet) and turn the wheels AT ALL or the tires will rub.

I know of people that have tried using 335's on the front. Not really recommended - they were only doing so in an attempt to address balance/traction issues while autocrossing, and more as an experiment (and I don't recall the outcome) - but they will rub parts on full turn.

Personally, I've used 305's (or were they 315's?) on the track without any problem (Hoosier R3s). I only used them because that was what I got a good deal on from a fellow club member that sold his car.

Re: 335\'s on the front?

my 18 inch VR-1 wheels are 11 inches wide in the front. i run a 315 series wide pilot on em. no problems with clearance issues. they do track ruts on the street pretty bad though and this adds unsprung weight. it did take the push out of the front of the car though and now my balance is more optimized. 335's would be way to wide. my VR-1 wheels in the rear have the offsets altered to push the stock 13 inch wide wheel out 1 inch farther in the rear and this provides optimum balance for road racing. if you were to run a stock offset rear in the back with a 335 in the front you would have way to much oversteer in the corners. you would stack your viper right quick with that setup.
