Ok so after looking at my VIN and finding out they are numerical numbered my car is #49 for the 93 year. Add that to 285 for 92 and my car is the 334th Viper ever built. I'm curious to see if there is anyone with a lower number than mine. Any 92 owners here?

The last 6 digits of the VIN should give you the sequence number, I believe.

This is what I have saved to tell you what number yours is:

1B3BR65E5PVXXXXXX

1 = United States (Country of Origin)
B = Dodge (Make)
3 = Passenger Car (Vehicle Type)
B = ? (Passenger Safety)
R = Viper (Car Line)
6 = Performance/Image (Series)
5 = Open Body (Body Style)
E = 8.0 Liter V10 (Engine)
5 = Check Digit
P = 1993 (Model Year)
V = New Mack Avenue Assembly Plant (Assembly Plant)
XXXXXX = Sequence Number Assigned by Assembly Plant

There are several 1992 Viper owners that participate in this forum. I have been interested in the 1992 & 1993 Vipers for awhile and have been working on putting a story together about these great, "original Vipers". I believe that all 1992 & 1993 Vipers started out in sequence when the VIN #'s were stamped in the frame at the start of the assembly line but they were not completed in sequence due to part supply problems. Vipers were set aside until the required parts were delivered and as a result, the 1992 MDH dates are not in sequence for about 10% of the 1992 Vipers. This means that 90% of the Vipers were built and completed close to the VIN sequence number. An interesting event took place in the month of December, 1992 when 1992 & 1993 Vipers were being completed at the same time. The first several 1993 Vipers actually have earlier MDH dates then the last several 1992 Vipers. Since the part supply problem continued through 1993, your VIN number can not be trusted as an absolute sequence number but I believe that it will be close.

#876 in 1993 (#1161 out of all Vipers produced)

That's interesting about the 92/93 thing...I'd never heard that.

With quite a few Gen. Is driving around here...especially red ones...I'm still yet to see another with a rear antennae and a battery in the trunk! And to think I was going to pull that antennae off when I first got it...

Dads' Viper is an early 93, has the antenna on the rear fender and the battery in the trunk. I think his VIN is 385?

I have a 92', #152. Believe it or not there are some people out there with with multiple 92's and one person with more than 10.

I had a 92', # 211, but made the mistake of taking it for its first ride on cold damp morning to have my local Viper tech check it out ....need less to say the tech only saw it on the flatbed..... may it she rest in peace.

It would be interesting for Dave and Max to also compare the MDH (Month, Day, Hour) tags from the driver's door. I had a black 93 RT built in June, #771. It, along with close to 100 other '93s were stuck at New Mack Rd. for weeks waiting on hoods.

Where would I find the MDH info on the door? is it part of the normal door tag?

Yes, it's the white & black sticker with the VIN on it just above the latch. Look below the VIN for the line that says MDH:xx/xx/xx

I know of 5 1992 owners with more than one 1992 RT/10. I love the '92 and there are numerous differences with the 1993 models. I really love the peaky cam on the early models. The primary downside of a 92 is the exhaust hangers. Hopefully, all owners purchased the solid hanger part fix.
