Found in the local press:

Article of a SRT crash with a picture. He was entering the freeway and hit first gear instead of 3rd I guess. While doing so he hit a VW Golf. No one got seriously hurt.

The Germans and Swiss are smart when they engineer things. Those guardrails were specifically designed to allow the car to crash and not destroy the expensive hood of exotics that frequent the roads there

I think this is a thread everyone should be aware of.


When i first bought my viper I was having fun with it one night. I went to gun it, when throwing 2-3 i missed third and it went into 1st caused my wheels to all lock up and my car to spin out.

Thankfully i didn't hit anything.

I purchased the MGW shifter and never had that problem agian.

How does the MGW shifter help in this situation? Is it because the stock shifter is so long that it is hard to determine its' position?

yes!!! the shorter shifter makes it very clear what gear you are in.

Report says driver missed gear in second to third gear upshift, went into first instead, locked rear wheels, sending the Viper into a spin.

The out of control Viper also collided with a VW Golf who was not a t fault in any way.

Drivers license was taken away from the Viper driver at the scene of the accident (quite customary for Switzerland, I bet he looks at a one year driver's license suspension).
