Any local Gen 1 owners (NJ CT NY) wanna swap exhausts???

i decided to stay with the sidepipes, but would be willing to swap exhausts with someone if they are looking for something louder

i have full H ennessey 3" exhaust & hi flow cats. No mufflers. Sounds really low and badass. Just starting to get too loud for me. Others I know like it as loud as possible. The drone kills me after 20 mins.

If you're interested in a direct swap, let me know. I'm not looking for a quiet Viper, i just wanna tone it down a bit. If you wanna meet up to hear it, or whatever, send me a PM.

If nobody is interested, I guess i'll just experiment with some glasspacks

You should really consider buying a stock set and playing with them. There was one on ebay for less than $100. I did this and removed the cats...sweet.

Your setup would be highly desirable and worth much more than a stock setup.

i heard those stock ones run pretty hot though, so i put this post out to explore all my options first

Craig, I have been considering removing the cats from the stock system on my 94. How loud is your's with the cats removed? I don't want it to get to the point you can't hear yourself think at 65 mph.

Solution one, wear earplugs when it gets bad. The foamy plugs are easy in and comfortable. Two, if you set on changing it out, I bet Chuck T. has a couple, but call him to make sure. You can get a local shop to make something up for you fairly cheap. Good luck,

Removing the cats on a stock gen1 and keeping the rest of the system stock gives a perfect sound. Not too loud at all. It gets loud at full throttle, which is what you want, but completely quiets down to normal at cruising speed.

Fins a good stainless welder. Buy good stainless 2.5" straight pipe for replacement. Fix the exhaust to two tables before cutting out cat to ensure correct alignment when welding in replacement pipe.
