Hey guys we have a problem here. The Sylvania web site shows the 9005st as a high beam light and the 9006st as a low beam light. Which one are you using for which beam??? Are you buying both? Also I went to Autozone first then over to Advanced auto today and picked up the 9005stXS by mistake. These have the straight connection instead of the 90 degree connection. Don't make the same mistake I did!! Before I return these I need to know which bulb to use for which light!!

Thanks

Get light #9005. Autozone has a sale on them right now thru Saturday I believe. I just picked up 2, it was buy 1, get the second half off PLUS a $5 mail-in rebate! 19.99+9.99-5=$24.99 for the set! :2tu: :2tu:

I'm headin' to Autozone :2tu:

Hey Bat,
let me make a correction, it was Advanced Auto, not Autozone. Sorry about the confusion. I had to go look at the receipt to be sure. :smirk:

Thanks for the headsup man. I bought my Silverstars from Autozone in the past. I'm sure they'd have them still, if, special order them.

Al,
Are these headlights your purchasing for high beam only or are you purchasing high beam and low beam?
Do you have the part #'s for high beam and low beam or are the high and low combined as one light?

I have them installed in my fogs. They are much better than the OEM bulbs. They aren't as good as HID's, but they do look and work nice. I already had HID headlights.
Kwkshift, how do the HIDs look with the Silverstars... Do they match up close??? I was thinking of doing the HIDS for the headlamps only...What Kelvin rating do you think is best......to cheap to do them both...Al...

They look good. Much better than just the regular fog lamp bulbs. But, they aren't quite as good as the HID's. As far as which HID's to get, I don't know. My car already had the HID's when I bought it.

The service manual for my 02 states the 9005 bulb as low beam, 9011 as high and H3 as fog.

Syl. website shows 9005 bulb as 1750 lumens, 65w (highbeam) and 9006 as 1000 lumens 55w. H3 is 1310 lumens at 65w. All are ~4000K color temp.

Great, that could explain why a 05 bulb in a low beam spot brightens everyones day. Who to believe?
