Baseline dyno results on the \'06 SRTC

I joined the Ferrari Club for their dyno day today so that I could get a baseline on my new coupe. There were some amazing cars there including an F40, new F430, 3 Lambos and many other Ferraris. Of course they made me wait until last since I was not a member of the club, but I didn't mind since they were nice enough to let me run. My coupe has 650 miles on it with the first 500 kept below 3000 rpm and only one spirited run before the dyno.
Results: 434.3 rwhp and 465.1 rwtorq. I was disappointed since I was expecting about 10 more hp than it tested. I'm not sure which is the correct way to convert to crank numbers (assuming 15% drive line loss):
multiply x 1.15 = 499.4 and 534.8
divide by .85 = 510.9 and 547.2

I'm thinking that the SRT/10s I watched dyno a couple of years ago were putting out 445 rwhp. Is that correct?
What stock numbers have others been getting, especially with coupes (factory stock)?

By the way, the F40 hit 490 rwhp and the F430 hit 429 rwhp

Actually, that sounds about right for stock rwhp (434-438 rwhp) ... that new motor should loosen up a bit with time

Mine was 445 RWHP. 435 sounds just a tad weak. But I would expect that if it hasn't been pushed to WOT before.

a F430 that puts 429 hp to the rear wheels is strong. these cars are rated at like 490 hp at the crank. i am guessing he had exhaust mods? that rear engine design incurs minimal drivetrain losses. like 12%. same goes for the ford GT. bone stock they have put down as much as 550 rwhp.

Yea my GT put down 551rwhp bone stock. I was shocked that is 630hp at the crank roughly. That 430 is strong!

Re: Baseline dyno results on the \'06 SRTC

The rw torque on the F430 was around 300 so the Viper is all over it in that department. Monday I will be adding the Mopar race exhaust, race engine controller and K&N intake system. Our Viper club has a dyno day next Saturday so I will see what gains I get from these mods.
I will put some pictures from today up on my photo album.

I didnt do a baseline run with mine, but after BB step headers and full exhaust and tune it made 469rwhp and 499Tq, so yours is in the ballpark. It might do better on a different day or a different dyno, usuaully the dyno is just for tuning and seeing before and after results of mods anyway

Make sure your fan and air work with the race controller, I had one of these in my 03 SRT10 and I couldn't even cear the fog off my windows in the rain ( had to drive with the windows open just to see ), supposedly about half of the Mopar SRT10 performance controllers are defective this way.

To answer your formula question.

It is more accurate to divide.

+/- 10HP is well within dyno/temp/other variables....

Re: Baseline dyno results on the \'06 SRTC

I just returned from the dyno function and am filled with elation and disappointment at the same time. First the elation: My '96 GTS surprised me and everyone else there. It put down 467.4 rwhp and 507.5 rwtq. It has 21,000 miles and the following mods-- K&N filters, Henne$$ey carbon fiber air box, SVP headers, no cats, and old style Borla cat back. When I dynoed it 2 years ago it had the same set up only with high flow cats and put down 444.5 rwhp.

The disappointment: The SRTC pulled 448.0 rwhp and 482.1 rwtq after installing the Mopar race exhaust, race engine controller and K&N intake system (stock last week it was 434.3 rwhp and 465.1 rwtq). Granted, the car only has 700 miles and has not been run hard so the computer has not learned what I want from it. I was hoping for around 460hp and 490 torq. We'll see what happens as the miles increase and I get a little more aggressive on the throttle.

Get some miles on that car and it'll give you some better numbers. That being said, i would think a GenIII motor with R.E.C. and race exhaust would see more than 14 rwhp... Do you have your stock cats in place ?

Race engine controller is designed to run with 100 octane unleaded fuel and a different cam. It will not advance or do anything without the higher octane fuel and the race cam installed per my Viper Tech. Changes gained were simply the KN filter and the exhaust. Brian

What kind of dyno ? I made another thread before I saw yours.....took the wife's 7000 mile 04 SRT to a dynojet and it was 437/482 all stock. More miles will probably help you out.

Re: Baseline dyno results on the \'06 SRTC

It was a Dynojet. Another guy ran an '05 VCA yellow SRT/10 with about 13,000 miles, Belanger headers, high flow cats and Corsa track exhaust. He runs the car hard and tracks it often. He dynoed at 482 rwhp and a little under 500 rwtq. To me it looks like it is the number of miles and how they are driven that makes the biggest difference in dyno results. I've heard the rule that 20,000 miles gives you 20 hp and it appears to be true.

Re: Baseline dyno results on the \'06 SRTC

Heres a little more information on dyno #s-

My 2004 SRT10- 468.7 RWHP-494.5 RWTQ-6,000 miles when dynoed.
My 2005 SRT10- 486.6 RWHP-498.7 RWTQ-13,200 miles.

04 had complete Belanger system(headers,hi-flow cats,exhaust)
04 had green filters

05 has Belanger headers, random tech. hi flow cats,Corsa track exhaust.
05 has K&N cai
Sure looks like the mileage is a key factor. Both were done on the same dyno, both days weather wise were very close. For what its worth. :usa: :usa: :usa:
