Can a Gen 2 go thru 1/4 mile in 3rd gear?

My Gen 1 car used to run best 1/4 mile numbers when not shifting to 4th. It ran 12.50's - 12.70's. Can a Gen 2 run low 12's and get thru 1/4 mile in 3rd gear or is shifting to 4th gear best. Car has minimal mods (see below).

Yes, a Gen II car with 3.07's can make it through the 1/4 in 3rd gear, however you will hit the rev limiter right at the line. It's up to you.

Want to go faster in the 1/4???? Get off the line quicker. Worry most about getting your 60' times under 1.9 and hitting nice quick shifts. You be under 12 flat no problem. 1.7 to 1.8 is about the best you can get on stock tires. You will need 3.45 to 3.55 gears to get the 1.6's.
