can some one tell me how i can burp the cooling system

i have a gen2 (97) and i'm new to this over heating thing, can someone tell me or direct me to the right direction?

The hoses with the valve in them help a lot. Archer, Roe, Levin, etc. sell them.

Also if you ever have the thermostat out drill a small hole in it to let air rise into the upper hose. That way you can burp it without the motor being hot.
