Cat Installation?

I'm looking to install HF cats and a catback. I know the stock cats need to be cut off. Can the new cats be clamped to the header or do they need to be welded back? Any pointers to reduce the chance of leaks?

Hey Darrin,
You can use 2.5" stainless band clamps.
The best ones I've found are the ones from NAPA "EasySeal/Flat Strap".
Or you can weld them too [more work].

I had mine welded onto the "curved" factory header to cat pipe.
Some have them welded while on the car, I positioned my cats onto this curved pipe and to thr new Corsa system mufflers, fiddled and tweaked everything then marked the connection with a circumferential line AND a lateral line-up line. Pulled everything off and had them welded off the car. Everything was perfect when it was re-installed.
No worrys about leaks.
