Hello, I'm changing my tranny fluid for the first time. I have a 96 GTS and was wondering if the pan under the tranny has to come out to get to the drain plug? Any help would greatly be appreciated.

it doesn't _have_ to but you really want to remove it. 10 or 12 15mm bolts w/ an impact wrench takes all of, what, 45 seconds? do it for sure.

Yes....15mm socket on shield's bolts (10)..use 3/8" square pipe plug or 3/8" square drive on drain plug on right near tail (re-torque to 28 ft-lbs)...use same 3/8" sq.drive on fill plug on left near tail(re-torque to 20 ft-lbs).
