Charge Rate Battery Tender

Will a Battery Tender Jr. @.75 amps keep a car battery in good shape for winter, or do I need the full size @1.25 amps?

I only need it for maintenance, not for bringing dead batteries back to charge.

I use the Battery Tender Jr on all my cars through out the whole year and have never had a problem.

Both chargers would be supplying about the same current during maintenance mode, typically below 0.125A. The ratings that you mention are the maximum bulk charge ratings for charging a partially discharged battery.
