Clutch pedal bushing replacement question

I need to replace the clutch pedal bushings on my 96 RT. I found a pretty good description in an earlier thread on removing the c-clip but the procedure seems to assume that the clutch actuator rod is removed from the clutch pedal as well. The actuator rod is attached with some sort of plastic bushing. Does it simply pop off the pedal with enough force or is there some secret to releasing it?

If it's like Gen1, then don't force it. Stick a screwdriver in the cage and twist.

Yep, that's it. I've never encountered a fastener like that before. Thanks for the help.
