Yes, you figure they have only so many hours in the day and building/maintaining a Web presence is lowest on their list of priorities. This is why I decided to purchase advertising rights on viperclub.org so that I can help "pretty up" the online tuner world :)

I hear ya Schorvita but it's not a matter of prettying up. Having an effective web site isn't about a flashy intro, it's about making available the contents AND PRICES of what you are offering to prospective customers. People who don't have the time to call the busy tuners you mentioned. Tuners, when you can actually get one on the phone, demostrate that they do not have time to answer a lot of simple qustions. Before I spend $10K plus on anything, I am collecting as much info and detail as possible and having a good site saves me time as well as the hard working tuner.

My examples:

Great sites:
Details of different packages including prices; Details of specific parts w/ prices; easy to understand sites not necessarily professionally created and overly expensive.
http://www.supervipersystems.com/; http://www.westcoastviper.com/

Good site:
Details of different packages and specific parts including some prices.
http://vipersbyelite.com/viper_009.htm

Poor site:
Some package and product details; some prices; mentions other offerings without any details.

Just an opinion from a sometimes frustrated shopper.....

I totally agree with you. Our Blastmart product is not only the most cost-effective product on the market for online shopping, but it is one of the most powerful. I like to call it Yahoo! Shopping on Steroids. We took the best features of Yahoo! and Amazon.com and built an out-of-the-box _networked_ shopping system. Making something that is also attractive to the end user is extremely important as it transmits a sense of professionalism.

Again, check out our online shopping sites geared toward the automotive industry:
