Difficult hot starting

When my car is cold it starts up immediately. However when it's warm it takes a long time to start. After 3-5 seconds of cranking I let go the key and it barely sputters to life. I've changed the MAP sensor, AIS motor and cleaned the air filters. Does anyone have any ideas?

Try cycling the key a couple of times for due to bleed down,

just reviewed history on my car. prev owner had these issues... (sorry about caps...)

INSPECT STARTING SYSTEM - 8 SEC TO START & JUST TURNS & WHEN DOES START, FEELS LIKE CHOKING - DIAGNOSED & REPLACED FUEL PUMP & HYDRAULIC CLUTCH ASSEMBLY & GASKET INTAKE MANIFOLD

here's another issue...
INSPECT STARTING SYSTEM - CUSTOMER STATES INTERMITTANT NO CRANKING, MAY BE RELATED TO ALARM, REPLACED NEUTRAL SAFETY SWITCH; INSPECT ELECTRICAL SYSTEM - TRACE & REPAIR LOOSE CONNECTOR IN BK 212 CIR RELAY

and another...
INSPECT FUEL SYSTEM - CUSTOMER STATES ENGINE SPINS 5-7 SECONDS BEFORE STARTING - ORDER FUEL PUMP


yup, you read right. fuel pump was replaced twice... once at 1,200 miles and again at 16,500 miles.

and jerry got to the car at 26,000 miles...

REPLACE SPEED SENSOR - FUEL SYSTEM - CUSTOMER STATES ENGINE SPINS 5-7 SECONDS BEFORE STARTING - ORDER FUEL PUMP
DIAGNOSE CHECK ENGINE LT - NO SPEEDO SIGNAL, SPECIAL ORDERED

that's right, 3rd fuel pump. no problems evident since. hope this info helps...

My guess would be fuel pump also. Might be time to upgrade that fuel system!

Exactly. It only happens when it's hot. If I let it cool overnight it starts right up. I'm thinking it's got to be electrical somehow.

BTW I'm planning on upgrading the fuel system anyway so I hope it IS the fuel pump.
