These sound like a great idea, and I don't dispute your needing to charge this much for the product.

Here is some price feedback anyway.

I'd be interested in a pair of header heat shields at about 1/3 the price- $300 for the pair.

Actually this is about the same for the remaining parts. at 1/3 the cost I'd be interested.

Hopefully the price point for others will be higher so you will have a successful product.

I saw the products at VOI and they do look great. Can't vouch for the effectiveness, but knowing Dan I'm sure the work as advertised.

Sadly, they are currently beyond my budget also...

Great concept....Im sure a quality product but somehow I think the costs need to be reduced to be a good seller....

Just too much $$$ for heat shielding.......

I agree with ewave - I may own a Viper, but I don't own a bank.

Questions - Will the Sill Panel Shields and Catalytic Converters/Muffler Tunnels work by themselves? - Will they fit with modified exhaust systems (Random Tech ultra hi flow cat & 3" Corsa cat back? - will the rear of the Viper be able to handle all the extra heat now going back to it?

Dan Cragin selected our Viper as a prototype for a new thermal insulation kit including a product called the “Viper Tunnel”. The kit consists of header and collector heat shields, side sill heat shields (Viper Tunnel), A/C system heat shields, and a thermal hood pad with or without the Viper logo.
The Viper Tunnel itself wraps the muffler and cats in high temp thermal insulation and the sill itself has a thermal shield to replace the stock one. The air is allowed to flow freely through the two pieces - hence the name “Viper tunnel”, and significantly reduces the amount of heat that penetrates the side sill – no more yellowing paint and no more leg burns. Our Viper has approximately 11,000 miles and the stock insulation was already burned through. Additional thermal panels were also created to replace the insulation sheet under the A/C, as well as header covers (our Viper has Borla’s new long-tube stepped headers). The replacement thermal panel increases the effectiveness of the A/C and the header covers protect the wiring and brake lines from the excessive heat generated by the headers themselves. In addition to the Tunnel, header covers and A/C replacement panel, a hood insulation blanket was created to replace the existing paper-thin material on the underside of the hood. The hood insulation blanket is stunning, made out of silver, fire-proof material, including internal fiberglass insulation, and includes the Viper Logo. The workmanship is incredible! Not to mention never having to worry about heat damage to the paint on the hood ever again.
We were extremely pleased when my wife and I picked the Viper up. The looks and workmanship of the product are incredible (although you cannot really see the Viper Tunnel once the side sills are put back in place – with the exception of the small elbow that peaks out just in front of the rear tires). My wife drove the car home (Her turn) and she noticed right away that the Viper was much cooler inside and out. The temperatures have been greatly reduced on the side sills and inside the cockpit. After we drove home in 85-degree weather the side sills were just a little warm to the touch. The air conditioning works 200+ percent better. On the way home the A/C was on the 1st setting only and it was very comfortable inside the cockpit. With this total package the Viper thermal kit will help in reducing side sill heat and discoloring (a must if you own a silver or white Viper), reduce under hood temperatures and improve the air conditioning efficiency. Please feel free to email us any questions you may have, if you live in So Ca please feel free to stop by and take a look for your self.

Dan, If I had to pick either the tunnels or the sill insulation which would your recommend? Both is the best choice but I'm going to have to do a two phase installation.

Also, If the tunnels wrap the exhaust...even though there are slits for airflow...where do the heat go? Out the rear? Are the slits facing the ground larger to funnel heat to the ground? Or is the concept that it just holds it in?

Would you mind explaining the exhaust elbow covers more in detail?

Thanks! Sounds like a great product and quality we desire.
