About a year ago I saw a very nice yellow '01 at the dealership I use for service. A spring in the door hinge (curved metal piece) had broken and the tech said that hinge and spring must be greased to keep from wearing out. That tech is no longer there so here is my question:

Does anyone know how to access this spring/hinge and what type of grease to use. I also need to grease the hood pins as there was grease on them when I bought the car new and there is none now. Same grease? Thanks

The easiest way to get to the door hinge spring is by taking off the
panel in front of the door. Its not hard but make sure you watch to
see if the spacers fall off of the panel and where they go.
I use wheel bearing greese.

yes, you must remove the panel in front of the door to access the hinge. I found the best grease to use is Ball Joint grease, no popping or rubbing when moving te door. If you dont have any avalable, just pop off a wheel and scrape some off a boot...lol.
