My 2002 GTS with 5k miles has a creaking drivers side door. If you open the door all the way, when you close it you get a really loud "pop" as the door comes off the forward stop. It's been like this since I bought it a month ago. Should I get it in for warranty work or is this normal? Maybe it just needs a little grease?

NO problem with my 01.However my first choice might be to spray some lithium grease. Then let the dealer worry about it cause something is not right. GTS Bruce

Mine does it occassionally, but of course never when it is at the dealer. Mine does it after I wash the car....but since I only wash it once a year, it hasn't happened in a while

Moe,

It is probably not your hinges. I had the same thing happen, and my Tech told me where to apply grease. Open your door all the way, and get a flashlight and look down inside where the back side of the hinges are. You will see a piece of curved spring steel riding on a roller. This is what is supposed to hold your door open. Unfortunately, they can fail and make you not be able to close your door. Just put some grease on the end of a long stick, and apply it liberally to that spring metal. My door sounds so quiet now and operates so smoothly now. Try it you'll like it.
