I purchased my Added Care Warranty 2 years ago. The best $2K I ever spent. I now have a 9 year old car which will remain under warranty until March, 2005!

Realistically too, I'm sure that this would add considerable value to my car if I were to sell it.

The way I understand my ext. warr. is that it is a total of 7 years, not 7 years plus the esisting 3 if that makes sens. Mine is and 01' so I am good till 2008.

Got mine from Chuck. He is the only call you need to make. Best price and A+++++ service.

I actually founf Mirlam Vaughn and Mike Robbins to have lower prices than Tator. I called several others as well and Mike was the cheapest.

I agree with J Smith on both of his points:

1) The 7 year warranty is good from the manufacture date. It is cheaper ($100/year) the earlier you buy. In my case, my 2000 RT/10 warranty that I bought in 2002 cost me $300 more than had I bought it in 2000 (2000, 2001, 2002 is 3 years). Still a GREAT deal. I got mine for around $1500 from Mike Robbins at Ringgold Dodge in GA. Which leads em to my second point...

2) Mike had the BEST deal, but was also the closest in distance to me. I know I'm covered if I ever have a warranty issue. If I had to recommend Mike, Tator, or Woodhouse... I'd probably recommend whoever was closest to you :)

BTW, I bought the MAX CARE warranty, which is the best you can get and pretty much covers anything short of wear-and-tear...

About 1.5 years ago, my car was about to go off warranty (3 years from date of sale), and I shopped around a bit, but ended up buying from a "local" dealership who also replaced my soft-top under warranty (twice).

In November 2001, I got a Max Care, 7 year, 100k mile, $0 deductible warranty for a ~$3300 from ML Motors in Lexington, NC. BTW, I don't believe $0 deductible warranties are still available, but it sure is nice to be able to take it in whenever and not be concerned with getting nickeled and dimed.

If everyone who posts info on getting a warranty includes all the above info, that will be much more productive, i.e., include: Date of purchase of warranty, type of warranty (Added Care, Max Care, etc.), duration of warranty (5,6,7 year), mileage of warranty (50k, 70k, 100k), amount of deductible ($0, $50, $100), price, and dealership/location/individual. Otherwise your post is probably not too useful.

Prices as of Feb. 2003

7/100k max care - Mirlam Vaughn (301-843-2400) $0 deduc = $2935($100 added for 1 year old car so base would be $2835) (Mike is a few $$$ cheaper).

mine 7/50k $50 deduc max care $1525 on a 1 year old car. Like was stated earlier add $100 for every year old the car is.

Let me add that my total price above included the $100/year old figure - note that I bought mine right before the 3 years finished off. I cannot recall whether the $100/year means that after between 1-2 years, you pay $100, then 2-3years you pay $200, but that makes sense (i.e., you can't buy after 3 years, so no $300 add-on price).

OK i see some want addtl info on what i purchased;

due to my lazyasss waiting so long after my original warranty expired (march 2002) i could not get the "maxcare", so i opted for the 4yr 40k added care plus which covers as much shiit as is possible under this type of warranty, which is (so im told) the best one available to dumbshiits who wait too long; moral of story; get your extended soon after original is up dont wait or you pay, Oh BTW my deductible is $100 all in all for 2K its a very good warranty and it starts upon purchase date which is another good feature; i now have four more yrs to beat this baby, LOL

2 grand for another 4/40 you can't beat. One trip in for an a/c repair will take care of the purchase price. :D

Sorry about that. I purchased the warranty from Champion Dodge in Gulfport, MS. I do not remeber the specifics about it. But it is bumper to bumper with no deductible. The next closest price I got which would only extend the warranty 4 yrs was $2400. If you need more info when I get to the garage I will check the paperwork for the name of the plan.
