I think the insulation was supposed to be cemented to the sills. Here is a pic showing the oval areas ofblack adhesive on the inside of the sill. [image]
So, I got some Extreeme Weather metal foil tape at Home Depot. And patched up the insulation pad. I cut up some thin alum panel for a patch and did an over-lay with the tape ( great tape and very sticky) Of course I preped the surface first to promote adhesion. [image]
I then reshaped the insulation blanket to fit better in the sill( it was sitting to high and whoever had it off last had pierced holes in the insulation when re-attaching the sill [image]
I used RTV as adhhesive to fix the insulation tight in the sill.
I am trying to create an air gap between the Cat and the insulation blanket, so I cut up an aluminum vent cap ( Home Depot) to put around the Cat( I mushed down the vent slots to be sure of clearance) [image]
Then I got some alum screen to make a double wrap around the rest on the side exhaust [image]
Next step, I want to cut a vent in front of the sill behind the front tire

[/image] but when I took off the sills, the insulation was loose and resting up against the Cat. ...got overheated....the foil was scorched and very thin, fragile and flacking.. and burnt in a small spot...and the insulation there has absorbed moisture ( from washing car?) [image]
