What are the standard fuel injectors on the 8.3 SRT 10? Is there any benifit to changing these out? Just wondering

No benefit.

You only change the injectors if your fuel needs exceed their volumetric capacity. In other words, if your injector duty cycle is is over 80% during max power, then you may consider larger injectors or simply bump up the fuel pressure. There is no power to be made unless one of the injectors is faulty.

There are some naturally aspirated Gen IIIs making over 650whp on stock fuel system.

Why? If it runs good leave it alone

So what if it is running bad:dunno:

You post could be confusing to a noob. Even if a car is running bad or has clogged injectors there is no benifit to change to anything but standard/stock injectors. slysnake: The purpose of the injectors are to provide the calculated amount of fuel needed to provide a proper Air/Fuel Ratio. If you were thinking that you could simply add more fuel to the equation and get more power you were wrong. To rich = less power just as to Lean can = less power. One way that a motor could Need more fuel would be if it has forced induction(turbo/supercharger) because there is so much air being cramed into the cylinder that a lager injector might be needed to maintain the proper air fuel ratio.

Like 345s-bspinnin said. Stock injecters are good up to a certain amount of power. Bolt-ons(intake/exhaust) are insignificant but once you go to higher power N/A setups or forced induction your tuner will be able to tell at which point your fuel system will need to be upgraded.

Like has already been stated, if you are making more power than stock, you might need new injectors, but you'd need to know your current injector duty cycle to make the call. The general rule of thumb is that anything over 80% under heavy load is too high, but that's just a rule of thumb, not something set in stone. If the PCM can keep the AFR in line, you will generally be okay as long as it is consistent.

If you really suspect something is wrong with your injectors, I'd say that your best bet would be to send them to someone that rebuilds injectors. There are a few places out there that provide this type of service, and they'll tear the injectors down and replace anything that needs to be replaced (like the internal filter screens, etc.) and check the flow and spray pattern to make sure they are operating correctly.

.Yes, that's what I wondered. Thanks for clearing it up for me.
