Is Protection Group worth it, or is there a better option?

I'm looking at ordering an ACR, and am curious if the Protection Group is worth the $400. That seems like a lot for a car cover and floor mats - I think my Mopar car cover for the GTS plus floor mats from VCA vendor (can't remember who now) were less than that. What do you think, worth the price?
Thanks,
Martin

Everyone will have their opinion, but in mine I would pass on the protection group. The car cover is a very light, nylon-type material and will not offer much protection against dings or impact. The floor mats are typical factory quality items, although they do have a hook/grommet now to keep the mat from sliding forward like my Gen II does (3 different mats tried in the Gen II, they all slide). I had no choice on my car since I found it in dealer inventory, but if you are ordering think twice about it. BTW, I am assuming that the cover for the ACR is the same material as that for my 'vert.

Thanks John - that's good to know. My Mopar cover for the GTS was really nice - I think it was either Noah or Evolution material and really thick. Maybe I'll pass on the protection group then - -save the $400 for a better cover...

never seen the factory cover for the acr but if its like the one for my 06 not worth the money. bought my acr cover from snake oyle and the cover is at least4 times the thickness of the factory 06 cover and as soft as a diaper, its also a perfect fit and huge when you take it off the car when you rool it up (alot of material for rear tail and front splitter) my two cents:)

Perfect - that's what I wanted to hear! And, I think Snake Oyle was the company that made the mats for my GTS. Good info!

Pass on the protection group. Check out the car cover from Woodhouse (Mark). Fits the wing and front splitter perfectly! Nice thick, quilted, breathable. see photo

Well said and I got better mats from US Speed/Lloyds mats for 140.00 inc. shipping and a custom fit cover for the aero coupe or ACR from Calif. car cover for only 209.00

For floor mats, do not forget to consider those provided by the N. Cal club.

Nice and thick, cut to fit, and lots of customized options for color and logo.

Maurice has been providing these for years.

One thing to consider is if you are buying your ACR as a collectable is that in years to come these factory accessories are highly prized when they are no longer available. Aftermarket stuff has much less desirability.
