Actually as wrecks go I don't think its that bad. I see a sill, exhaust, door, qtr, wheel, tire and the hood (the big $$$) seems unscathed. Depending on if the frame under the sill got crimped, to paraphrase craig, that'll buff right out.

I would wonder what happened to the rear suspension and undercarriage. Looking at that rim, some heavy force was applied in SOME direction...and that force had to have been absorbed (to some extent) by the rear suspension. Did that make sense?

Normally I would agree, but if you look
closely the wheel was bent outward on a
point. I can invision a small sharp peice
of metal from the other vehicle prying
that wheel open like an old soup can -
hense the tire popping.

I feel your pain, fellow Bumblebee brother. :( I'll make a small sacrfice to the Viper gods this evening, in your honor.

Hope things work out 100% for you.

Best Regards,

Bonk, I know you have indepth experience in fixeruppers, but this was an accident, not a purchase. In which case you demand ALL NEW PARTS, not "buff-outs." A chip in the paint could mean cracks in the fiberglass = NEW. 35K gets you in the ball park. It could very well be another 10K and that doesn't even include diminished value.

going to be expensive.
good news is that rear frame is stronger than front, so it may be okay.
just really make sure someone that really knows what they are doing looks everything over. Find out who is familiar with these cars in your area.

Yes, it hurts, but it can be repaired as good as new. Sometimes the repair area turns out better than the factory original parts.
Keep the faith!

Whoa. I meant to click on the chick/viper thread and must have misclicked. Sorry for the loss. That must have been a pretty nasty experience. I would have been tempted to drag the other driver out of the car by his eyelids. Just be glad that no one was hurt.

Please share with us what the repair estimate is when you get it. This one is not going to be cheap.

I'll bet the "mothefuc*er" suddenly grows a brain next time he is on the road when he sees the estimate and gets his next car insurance bill. ;)

Excuse me, but I need to go puke now.
