Can't remember when I bot it but guessing 15-20 years ago.
I believe it was supposed to be mounted as the discharge from brake ducting however, it could be mounted as the inlet but where?
Doesn't seem to be any room on the knuckle AND can't find any bolts nearby that would make sense
I think I paid $30-ish. Probably not a "hot setup" anymore - are they worth anything?

Fog lights is my guess as that is where track guys do it.

And they are worth less than a dipstick tube.

Fog lights would be a candidate, however the fogs are mounted with 3 screws which is what you'd also use on your duct part. The single mounting tab looks like it would eventually fail from high cycle fatigue where the tab meets the gusset since it supports a massive cantilever. (The gusset should have extended to the end of the tab - in fact some C-channel form would be better.) The duct hose would provide some damping, but I wouldn't count on it. Also, the tube is smaller than the fog opening - you'd want that sealed - so it for fog location, it wouldn't look like a simple tube (actually a tube with a flange would be perfect and EZ. I'm going with "Not the fogs, Alex."

I like the dipstick dig. It's interesting that nothing but crickets when I explained why the dipsticks were being blown out at the track.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I remember reading that there's no airflow at the fog lights so it won't do anything for brake cooling, and that's why they added that air splitter on the edge of the fog light for the GTS-R.

I'm pretty sure has nothing to do with HMS nose - I could have sworn these were at the discharge end. (I have NO IDEA what ducted brake cooling looks like on a Gen 2.)

...wonder if IPSCO might know what they are? I bot them from someone fabricating them for Viper and it had to be a Gen 2 since all I've owned.

I believe I had plans for these BEFORE I realized Wayne had put Porsche brake cooling deflectors on the lower control arms. (could they have bolted onto a moving control arm???)

Dilusi Motorsports used to sell a bracket set along with the L/R 911 deflectors. This is what they look like installed. FYI - they can be installed below, or above the wishbone. And you can flip the deflectors L/R. I currently run mine on top the wishbones with the long flat facing forward and the cupped end pointing at the rotor, same as your photo.
