Trying to get better times in Autocross and think better tires would be a good start (stock pilots are on now). Pretty sure I am going to go with the V700 because they will be mostly driven on the street. But wondering has anyone tried the V710's on the street?
Thanks. :)

Haven't tried the 710's and I don't knosh cones, but from what I can see, the 710s would be downright dangerous in even a light rain...

The 700s are bad enough, so if you plan on driving to events I'd stick with them.

710's hook great but if you even hit some irrigation water on the street they slide.

Sorry for the hijack, but I'm also looking at some ECSTA V700 for my viper and am a bit confused on some things. Looking on Tire rack they list 3 types of V700's.
1. V700
2. V700 Shaved 4/32"
3. V700 Heat cycled

Since these tires will be use almost exclusively for the street, what tires do I want? Also, how bad is the stone throwing on these and how do they wear? Thanks

I have a set of 700's (335 x17), approximately 2/3's of tread left, if anyone wants them, make me an offer. I also have a set of 315x17 fronts. Shipping would be from Cleveland.

You don't run the 710's on the streets as an every-day tire, they have a 30 wear rating, on the other hand, the 700's are streetable.

If they're for the street, consensus seems to be do NOT shave/heat cycle. Reason for shaving is to keep tires from "chunking" (losing chunks of rubber) when you road race them before heat cycling in normal street use. Also, shaving brings tread depth down to optimum so you can record that great time autocrossing even if tires are brand new. For those who drive their cars to the track, keep the tires on year round, etc., there's no need, since we heat cycle and naturally "shave" down our tread depth by driving normal street style. New tread depth is only around 6mm anyway...

I think the V700s have a wear rating of 50!! That's sticking! :thumb:

the 710 are markedly faster & require no shaving, not reccomended for wet weather at all.
The victo racer v700 needs to be shaved for ultimate lap times & longevity, leave them unshaved for street use, but if they are track use only & you want to drive the car to the track or auto x, shave them, they will last longer.
there is anothe v700 exsta that is still a dot race tire but has more tread but lacks the grip of the victoracer. The 710 is in the hoosier class of performance.
