Wasn't your amount $50k before?? Going to be VERY tough to find what your looking for, for $45k. I just bought my first Viper last week. I looked for 6 months for the same thing. Found a few of them for $45k, but they were junk. If you can get to $52-$55k. Then you can get a real nice car..

You won't find anything good under 55k. Everything else will have stories. Quit being a tight ***.

Interesting strategy for buying a Viper. You may find someone desperate or a piece of **** for that amount, but good luck to you. Once you're a Viper owner - you'll read a post like this and think that the guy posting it was a d!ck.

Not a tight *** or a dick just trying my best to be able to drive with the best. If I could go 55k I surely would, if I could go 65K I surely would but right now my credit approval is for 50k including tax and licensing. I don't want to cheat anyone but I have a dream and its this car. I post this here because every once in a while life happens and an opportunity occurs. Thank you to all who have written and sent PM's I appreciate the help. I will be patient and save $ so I can add to my loan with my own money so I will switch my from "enthusiast" to "viper owner" soon.

Hey Viperbound . . .

Hey Viperbound, don't worry about grizzled Viper old-timers making comments like above. Once you own a Viper, you have all the reason in the world to argue that Vipers are worth as much as possible. But as a guy who bought a 98 GTS with 27.5k miles on it for $40k a month ago (from a private party so no tax here in AZ), if your goal is to own a Viper for a great price, now is the time. My car has some small issues, but I am very confident that for a total of $45k I will end up with a great Viper (and I will have had the pleasure of sorting it out myself). Just remind yourself that it is a great time to buy any used car and a bad time to be selling one. On the other hand, there are only so many Vipers, and it seems that on this board people post about one getting wrecked every week, so the market will move and the only way is up.

You can find one for that, just look around. You can't have mine for that, but someone will sell you one.

Re: Hey Viperbound . . .

I know of a real nice Gen 2 [99, actually] that went for just over 50k... and that was with a ROE SC set-up and some other mods.

There are cars out there... you'll find something.

A budget, patience, and persistance are a good combination. Just keep looking. If your financial situation requires you to pay interest on a viper, be sure to purcahse one you WANT & LIKE. Especially if you are planning to re-sell it someday.

"...anything over 99 will do"

What the heck is wrong with a '99? I personally think its the best year ever.

(however, I may be slightly biased) ;)

Not me broh, a friend of mine. I have no reason, yet, to part ways with my car. Besides, I have to dump a ton of money in mods before I sell it.

You might find something for that but I suspect it will take at least $50K right now ... $45K a year from now.

Don't give up! I transported a 2000 RT/10 a couple of weeks ago that had around 25K miles and was purchased for $42.5K. It was a nice car, with only a small amount of wear and tear.

You can find deals prices will drop with the fall and winter coming up. Patience is a virtue. Everything will pay off if you are just patient. It did for me.

I will let my '99 go for $52,000. I am selling it mainly because I am bored with it (don't get upset everyone and no threatening emails! I am focused on racing). Only 10,000 miles, Silver / Black no stripe. K&N kit and a pistol grip shifter. You can email me at [email protected]
