Low tire ding

Is driving me crazy!!.After replacing my wheels my low tire light came on and started dinging.I drove it for a while and then one day it just stoped.This was about six months ago.

The other night when i was returning home my girlfriend gets out on the passenger side and it starts dinging again.
I would like a cheap fix.Do you think i could just yank this box out and solve my problems? Or would it just create more.Thanks.

When you changed the wheels did you also put new TPMS sensors and air valves in? I bet this is the problem on one of them.

My tpms would beep at 34# and quiet at 35+#.... They would beep mine was sporatic alos. The one pound at different temps was doing it. Try a little more air and see if that works...

FWIW.. I just removed them and check the tires and oil before every drive.

I have the i-forged on it and i had to remove the sensors because the wheels would not hold them.Air pressure is not the problem.

Disconnect your battery. Up under the hood disconnect the wire and leave off for a good 3 minutes or so. Then reconnect and you should be good to go as long as you have no sensors. Thats works for me with my track wheels and I get no dings. I dont even think the low tire light is on. With my Iforged I used the bands like the Vett guys do. They work well but dont over tighten them.

unplug the modual,it will either work or it wont,no harm in trying,but dont rip it out!

Seems like every other week a thread is started about those stupid tire pressure sensors. Dodge, please just eliminate that "feature." Viper owners are sports car enthusiast and most are even purist-extremists. Don't lose sight like GM did. We don't need an idiot light or stupid bell going off when our tires are low. We swap wheels for track and show and check air pressure regularly. Some can even tell when the tire is low just by driving. We maintain our Vipers and don't need any worthless headaches like wheel swaps triggering TMS bells while we are simply trying to enjoy the greatest car ever built.

Don't want it, don't need it and subsequently don't wanna pay for it. Let the aftermarket cover that crap. If people wanna add crap like that to their Viper have at it.

I figured as much. Too bad Detroit spends so much money lobbying for crap like this. Maybe they wouldn't be in the shape they're in if they'd stop sticking knives in each other's back and instead work together at lobbying to build fun cars. Idiots. Disconnect your battery. Up under the hood disconnect the wire and leave off for a good 3 minutes or so. Then reconnect and you should be good to go as long as you have no sensors. Should be a track override built into Vipers. If you press the button, the warnings will turn off until reactivated, or upon vehicle restart. It can even come with the government needed warning sticker saying "Only for track use with track wheels" or something like that if it needs to.

Dodge already uses a similar buttons on their diesel trucks, so it should not be too hard to incorporate.

I'd rather lobby the government to eliminate some of this so called "safety" crap. The added expense both in cost and weight is unnecessary. The problem is, as long as we have government departments like NHTSA, Transportation and EPA they will perpetuate their existance by ridiculous mandates. The battery connects at the Fuse box next too the little post with the red top. Lift up the fuse box and Unscrew the two nuts. Lift the wire off and wait 3-4 minutes. Put the wire back on and you should be good to go. It works on my car every time when I change tires for the track. I think when the TPS gets no signal at all it doesn't know what to do so it just stays off. Anyway it works for me. I was very very kind and even did a How too photo shoot since I was bored!

Why would they want to force standardization of something that they have used as a priceable improvement. Regulation removes any possible pricing opportunity. These pix are impressive and very helpful. Now, can you do this same thing showing the hook up for a battery tender under the HOOD on the SRT 10 if it can be done like the Gen 2? Thanks.

I thought the TMPS was so cool that I bought one for my Gen 2. I hate runcraps and have thrashed some low profile tires before - very expensive. With the Viper tires being $400 and up as well as an order in (wait 3 days) have a TPMS is an excellent idea. I Also figured that temp would be good to know so I bought the Hella system for my 01. Change screen colors and displays etc. Couple hundred bucks is cheap insurance. Fully adjustable for pressure settings etc.

Sorry but I would expect the majority of resources placed toward emissions and fuel economy regulation moderation. Without moderation the EPA, NHTSA and CARB would enact regulations that would be near impossible, contradictory between agencies and/or favor one manufacturer over others.
