i really am very close to ordering a set of motons. my question is do i really need to spend $4k to do it. i want that really slammed look that guys with motons have. does anyone have photos of their srt with just say Eibach springs? could that be done to save money and still have that moton dropped look? what would i be sacrificing?

I did alot of research on this last fall. My car was lowered with Aldan's and I did not like the performance of the car at all. The rear never felt right. I looked into eibachs and other ways of lowering but the end result was always Motons or nothing.

I've always found the stock suspension to be exactly what I like for ride/perfomance. I bought a set of unused stock shocks ($250) and fabbed up a custom fork for the rear that lowered the car 1 inch. This was a simple matter of re-drilling the hole locations and removing some material from the upper side of the fork (not much). Strengh is always a concern when doing something like this but the fork still seems quite beefy and strong. I highly doubt I weakened it much and my co-workers felt the same.

The front fabrication was going to be more involved so I went for a test run with aldans on the front, stock at the back. HUGE IMPROVEMENT! I loved it. In fact, it felt so good I'm simply going to leave the setup like that. Aldans up front, stock rear.

Inexpensive lowering and very satisfied ride performace.

I just put in the lowering spring caps. I like the look -- very subtle, but you can tell the car is lower than stock. Not bad for a total investment of $600-$700 + realignment. Highly recommend.
