I thought some of you may be interested in this. Last weekend the Diecast Viper Club had our 5th annual gathering in CT we met up at a matchbox show then after some store hunting made our way to my house for some viper chat and lunch. I had been working pretty hard at getting my displays together as I had recently purchased more cases. I still haven't gotten all of my cars yet so there are some empty spots in the cases. Please enjoy.

From a collecting standpoint is it better to keep them on cards or take them off like Diecast Viper has.

I have over 300 myself but I have those that came on cards intact.

Steve it depends on how you like your collection. There are pros and cons to both sides. At one time I tried to get 2 of everything one to keep carded and one to open and display but the cost got to be more than I could bear. If you plan on reselling value tends to be higher if carded. In my case I enjoy being able to see them and have them on display. If they were carded I could not do that it would take up way to much room. I do like them packaged as well as it is a good reference. I don't know if this helps or not.

If you want to display them carded, use a clip strip, a lot of stores use them to hang carded items onto the edge of shelves, like batteries, etc. then you could hang a strip of 12 carded ones staggered in a row.

Nice Collection, looks like a lot of years of work!

Wow! Fantastic. I got to show this thread to my wife. I am off the hook forever for my collection of about 30 models in my book case. Thanks!

Thanks for all the comments guys! I really do have a problem but this is my only hobby so I am a little off the hook. Once a year I open my house to the Diecast Viper Club and we just talk vipers. I have loved the viper since it came out. I looked forward to watching the viper episodes when they were out. When I started collecting diecast it was natural to go to the viper. Some of the early day memories of collecting were going head to head with Chris Marshal and Maureen Shragie on ebay. Those were the days!
