Okay, it's not my first one ever, but it is my first one in a long time. It is, however, my first ticket in a foreign country. That's right I received via the mail, a speeding ticket from the thriving metropolis of Liechtenstein. Yes, the country the size of my town has generously giving me a speeding citation. And graciously Avis (the rental car place) has forwarded them all my information and me the ticket... for a small fee, which they already charged me for. Ahhhh, isn't this so fun?!

Okay, now the details. My German is very limited so I may be wrong about a bit of this. Apparently, I was doing a blazing speed of 61kmh. That translates to 38mph. I was in a 50kmh zone apparently which translates to 31mph. Wow! My tires must have been on fire. Yes, folks put me in my Viper and I'm fine but give me a Renault Scenic II (complete POS) and I'm a rebellious, lead footed, law breaker! LOL!!!

My fine? 70 Swiss francs which is about $55. Oh, and according to the ticket (I think) I have 30 days to pay. That's 30 days from Sept. 20th. When did I get the notice? Yesterday. 28 days after. Too funny. What a scam.

Am I going to pay? Well... let's say I have decided that one yet. I am going to call them just for giggles. I will also make sure to laugh at them for ticketing me at such a ridiculous speed. Maybe I'll even ask them if they want to extradite me. LMFAO.

Stupid Liechtenstein. I hope we don't have any members there. Sorry in advance if we do.

Hellians like you shouldnt get speeding tickets, they should be thrown directly in jail. If you had been in the Viper, I bet you wouldve been doing over 40mph  ! LOL j/k, I'd pay the ticket just b/c it seems Liechtenstein has nothing better to do and may have your picture hanging in the post office the next time you return.

LOL, yeah no kidding. It's not the cost more of the principal. I mean who sets up a photo radar in 31mph zone?! I mean really. Come on! I think I'll frame the ticket, make wall a stupidity and hang the ticket on there.

Not to shoplift this thread but I also received my first ticket in many years on Monday. I had just left the house and I was at a light, alarm company called and said my house alarm was going off, and I had to make a quick "U" turn when the light turned green due to opposing cars also getting the green. Then I see those infamous flashing lights coming up on me. $150 fine for a friggin "U" turn. But I was lucky. This cop (state cop) was enraged and was waiting for me to look at him wrong so he could beat me. Seriously, I saw it in his eyes. He was having one monster bad day prior to pulling me over. I was lucky to drive away with the ticket as he wanted to pummel me.

Did you mention why you did the U-turn? If he was having a bad day, he might not have cared, but I'd get something from the alarm company verifying the alarm and take it to court. Sounds like you could get that one dropped pretty easy.

I was only able to say "my house alarm is going off" before he went into a rage and demanded my license and registration. I failed to mention that we had a tall glass of Vodka cranberry sitting between my wife and I (we were in an SUV going to the Monday nite Colts game) that could not have been 4 feet from this cop and if he had me get out of the car, he would have seen this and for sure I would have been beat. So it could have been worse but after bs like this, you can at least understand the anger that AB had against that cop. BTW, I already sent the $ in, not worth the headache.

At least they did not do like Brazil. Brazil has laws that allow the rental agency to add the ticket charge to your rental fee, makings it way onto your credit card before you even return home. All automatic from the cameras mounted all over the place.

That's a prime example as to why we here in America should never ever allow those stupid cameras to be placed in our towns. I know some already use them though.
