How easy is it to remove the center portion, in case you wanted to work on something underneath the car? Why did you choose this one over the others, and may I ask how much this one is? I'm looking for the best value (ie cheap without risking safety) 4 post lift...

it was a special im sure you can still get, this lift is made be rotary, which I believe is one of the best lifts made on the planet. The quality of this lift is second to none. It was 2775.00 delivered. Im sure you can still get on at that price, this is the xlt version which is a few feet longer and about 7 inches wider than the smaller.

removing the center pieces is very easy, there are 4 pcs and they just sit in the frame. very heavy, better with 2 people.

also for the 2775 I got 2 jack trays, 2 oil drip pans.

Are there 4 posters that do not have to be anchored or have castors to allow for moving around the garage?

I do not believe that any of the 4 posters need to be bolted to the floor. And I also believe that all have an option package of casters to allow the lift to be moved.

I do wonder why those center pieces are so heavy. What are they for? I have light weight panels that fit in mine to catch any errant drips that might get to the floor or car below. I also have a jack bridge and drip tray. Both are real necessities.

Yes it has casters that make it real easy to move, and they are very easy to put on, I also have the lightweight plastic drip trays, but the ones on it are for heavy items like motorcycles, basically it makes it a floor for storage. you can put your riding lawnmower on it.

Revolution by Rotary Lift. We had to buy three lifts min to get the discount. That was $1000 off of list. Price is delivered.

The lift that fell was a Perfect Park 9000...correct? It is the one with the Corvette going into the drywall. I think that may have been user error. The cable was not on the pulley and cut through.

I have been researching lifts for about two years. None are perfect. Some are total crap. Many are made in China. Some Lift Companies come up with their own testing standards.... That's no good. I work in the insurance industry. Our Loss Control department looks for the ALI certificaton on shop lifts. All the good lifts will have an ALI and ETL certification on them. These lifts have that.

Correcton: The 4 panels hold 300 pounds each, not 800.

The lifts come in colors. Since my garage is spotless, I ordered a Yellow lift. Yellow makes your car go faster? I just think yellow will look pretty cool. You can get these lifts in Black, Yellow, Blue, Red.

I have an new (extra) jack plate for an Eagle lift. Does anyone want it. They are a must when working on rearend, transmission or the supporting engine. The jack plate with two shorty hydraulic jacks can be used to get both wheels off the lift surface.

Relative to safety, the couple of accidents that had pictures posted both seemed as though they were operator error. The biggest error would be leaving an obstruction under one corner, the cable would probably come off the rollers. Even if this happens, if you are between stops nothing should happen.

Before I even installed mine a bought a barn jack just incase that happened. After I saw the pictures of Vette #1 sliding off and hitting Vette#2, I almost didn't buy the lift. I have conservatively lifted mine close to a thousand times without any trouble. Once you have one you will wonder how you managed without it. Even if you are not a wrench jockey they are great for detailing a car.

The easiest mistake to make is to engage only one lock at a corner alone. With mine that is possible by not completely disengaging all the locks before lowering. Checking to make sure all locks are free or that all 4 are engaged is very important. I got lacadasical one timeand had one corner lock engaged while lowering. It took a moment before I noticed. In that time the lift was lowered a good 6 inches with one corner way above the others. When that happens the cable on the adjacent corner gets loose. If the cable came off the pulley you would be in a terrible situation. I missed disaster and now am quite careful to prevent a similar occurrence. But I can see how it can happen, especially when you are not paying enough attention.

BTW I do not know how I could survive without the lift.

I dont know what jerry is talking about, I think he is mad he didnt order the floor, but each panel is rated at 800 a piece, for a total of 3200 lbs
