I've posted pics before, however, today I can't get pictures posted into the media section. My pics are less than 200k each but I keep getting a 127 error code about error creating thumbnail. I've got pics of the new VIPAIR plastic prototype installed to share. Any help would be appreciated. :D

Hey Dog, hows it going...

Is the vipair protoype the vipermed piece that he originally made from aluminum and powder coated to go in front of airbox to draw air through facia?

Adam,
Pissed I can't get the pics into the media section. Yes, Scott and Steve sent it to me for my Birthday to try it out. Even FEDEXed it to me for Saturday delivery yesterday...great guys! Hopefully, Gerald can get pics posted and then I will add my feedback.

I think the cury hair on pic 9 gives it a little better air flow due to the turbulent laminar flow disruption effect....

Pic 1 First, thanks to Scott (VIPERS BY ELITE) and Steve Prescott for sending me the VIPAIR plastic prototype to try out with my H M S airbox. The VIPAIR is very nice strong plastic with a brushed aluminum logo plate that has the VIPAIR logo laser cut into and through it. Weighs about 1.5 to 2 lbs.. The logo would be the same color as the plastic(black) except I hand painted the logo Viper Red with some touch up paint. It installed in 10 minutes and fits perfect...mounting holes match up and the hood closes without impacting the VIPAIR. When you take the stock panel off you can see that the VIPAIR gets it's air through the front fascia in front of the radiator and air conditioner and above the oil cooler. Also, I matched the VIPAIR up with my stock airbox and it also fits perfect.Besides bringing in cool air this thing looks really cool! I have no doubt that the VIPAIR provides a significant amount of cooler outside air in addition to the NACA duct into the airbox. Don't have dyno #s but that cool air has to add some HP. Can't wait to get a final production VIPAIR!

Pic 2 In this pic you can see that the VIPAIR channels it's air right into the front of the airbox.

Pic 4 In this pic from the motor forward I've removed the top of the H M S box so you can see how the VIPAIR channels the fascia air into the airbox. The entire width of the VIPAIR channels air into the full width of the airbox. Note that the VIPAIR is higher on both sides of the NACA duct indentation to allow more air to flow to the top edge of the airbox...they have a half-circle cutout on top of each sides leading edge to allow clearance for the NACA duct mounting points.

Pic 5 CLOSEUP...not bad for sticking my arm out and snapping!

Pic 6 H M S airbox with top on for those not familiar and you can see that the VIPAIR side channels come to the top of the airbox.

Pic 7 TNT short throw shifter with carbon fibre/leather shift handle. Added for the short throw shifter post.

(Can't wait to get a final production VIPAIR!)

Dog,

How does the prototype differ from the proposed final production unit?

Don't want to speak for Scott, however, I'm sure he is probably tightening final production tolerances and playing with colors possibly. I'm sure he will post when ready.

The final production version of the VIPAIR™ has some minor adjustments incorporated into it. The final version will also have a color coded insert available that is set in behind the laser cut aluminum, giving the same effect as Devildog's red paint, only without the time and trouble of painting. All ordering info will be posted early this week.

What's with all these little red "x"'s?

Does it have something to do with all the talk about "mounting" and all the pictures are "x" rated? :D

Adam,
Thanks for the update. I tried posting the pics again myself before emailing Gerald again and like you I keep getting the 127 error code. I still see the pics on my post as you do...must be people that accessed them before Gerald deleted his pic post to eliminate the duplication. ***...PAIN IN THE A$$...LOL!

DEVILDOG, I tried to open your message but for some reason Outlook Express gave me a message about, "Unable to open unsafe content." You can try sending it to my hotmail account: [email protected] or go to www.imagestation.com and sign up for a free account. That's what I use to host all my pics.

I see them! And to ensure they don't dissappear again, I uploaded them to my imagestation account, and resized them a little:
