I am at a point where I need to make a decision on which way to go on intercooling.

I have a person who is a master welder and fabercator that is going to help me build an intercooler system when I supply the parts.
Now here are the choices:

1. Intercool with air to water.

I could go with a larger core and put dual 10" fans behind the cores to pull over 1800 CFM constantly. So it would constantly be cooling instead of sitting in traffic just heating up and getting heat soaked.

I was wondering if I have two fans that pull 7-10 amps, would that put a strain on the charging system?

2. I can build a custom air-to-air intercooler system that has jets that can spray water/alcohol on the intercooler itself. (maybe like a 90% water to 10% alcohol mix so that way it won't be flammable) to help cool off the intercooler at a certain PSI.

Which one do you think would do the best trick? I appreciate any answers based off of experience.

If you have a paxton kit, I would also suggest scrapping your fuel system and upgrading plus upgrading your crank damper which ATI makes. If I can find an electric water pump, I will also go with that to help keep the car cool even when it's off. I know there are fan switches out there that turn on the radiator fan when the car is off, but I don't see how that really helps without water flow. I also am working with a mustang tuner to get a 10 rib pulley system in place also.

I've come a long ways from when I first started and learing this stuff, but that's half the fun is doing it yourself! :)

Hello ab....

I own a tuning company in San Jose CA. I have been dealing with turbo cars for over 5 years. I just recently got into the Viper market when I purchased my 97 GTS.

Over the years I have done my research and countless driving tests as well as dyno and track testing. This is the one thing i have always found out....
If you can fit a air-air, do it. It is the most efficient and most power adding. You can email or pm with with any specific questions.

Ab,

Call Brian at Fluid Control Products. He made mine (will support 1000 RWHp) and should still have the drawings for a custom fit. He is MUCH cheaper then anyone else and the quality is great. Number is 800-541-2345.8

Hey Dansauto!
Thanks!
Yours is an air to air right?

What did you pay if you don't mind me asking?

Did you have to cut into the front bumper support?

yes, air to air, 6" verticle core, 3" thk, 33"long had to custom make the top tanks as I am running two tubes to throttle bodies and the motor does not sit symmetrical under the hood. Had to trim a little on the inside of the bumper support and relocate the hood release. Call Brian for price I can't remember. Its been a couple months since he made it for me.
