the passenger side is fine. it locks and unlocks. the drivers side is stuck in locked mode. i can open it from inside but the button feels like it is still locked on the outside.

any ideas before i call the wizard and drive him crazy with this...lol

Does it seem like there's power at the solenoids?

I had problems with my drivers door too. The wiring harness at the door hinge always breaks wires. I've soldered 3 broken wires already. A very common problem.

There's lots of posts regarding this.

After soldering mine a couple years ago I found out it was covered by the extended warranty so I had it replaced for free before my coverage expires. Hope you are still covered.

the wizard seems to think it is the actual button that is no good. i took the grommet off the door for the wiring and all looks good in there. the button is definetely not working the way the passenger side is. the travel on the button is less for sure so he's pretty confident thats the problem. he will order the part on monday and if i get lucky he will have the part on wed or thursday.

i might have to call `El Presidente to call in a favor to push the wizard to help me get it in and done before the hampton cruise next weekend.

hey chuck, ya gonna have the fridge stocked with deviled eggs for when i get there ? ? ?

My 99 did the same, and after taking the wiringharness apart, I found a wire broken at the door hinge..fixed the wire and everything worked like new..see if the light on the lockbutton on the inside doorpanel is working properly, if not you could have the same problem I had..or it could be the switch

I believe the proper method is to pull on each wire - last time I did this, they all looked good, but three came loose with almost no effort. In my case, it was the power mirror (both axis) and the door lock light that weren't working; which were all fairly benign issues, especially since I wasn't used to having either on my previous viper  .

well after talking to the wizard, he told me to try and get some compressed air and blow out the button and then lightly spray in some lubricant. I did it and it didnt work last nite and now this am it will open intermitently.

so its definetely the button.
